Q. What size tables does Star City Social have?
A. We have 12 round tables (60” diameter); they seat 8 guests each. We have 35 eight-foot long rectangular tables that also seat 8 each. In addition, we have 1 small round table (30” diameter) that’s often used as a sweetheart table for the bride & groom.
Q. We’re expecting about 120 guests, but there aren’t enough round tables. How is that handled?
A. You can see sample floor plans on our Planning Your Layout page. You can also see what others have done by looking at our Photos page. For a guest list of 120, you would need 15 tables; you can use any combination of round and rectangular tables to suit your vision. Alternatively, you could use all rectangular tables for guest seating.
Q. What are the advantages of using only rectangular tables for our event?
A. Rectangular tables placed end-to-end create a sleek look while maximizing floor space; such a layout provides the largest possible dance floor. This is especially impactful with larger guest lists. And using all rectangular tables makes figuring out your guest seating chart so much easier!
Q. Besides guest tables, what other tables might I need for my event?
A. Additional tables (typically rectangular) are used for the following needs:
Food (usually 2-3)
Dessert
Gifts
Games
DJ (if they aren’t bringing their own)
Q. What are my options for tablecloths?
A. You can rent or purchase tablecloths; some caterers offer table linens as part of the catering package. You can even sometimes borrow them from a friend or find them on sites like Facebook MarketPlace. We recommend renting, but that’s entirely up to you.
Q. What rental services do you recommend?
A. We recommend Rustic Rental (within walking distance) and PrimeTime Party & Event Rental (12 min drive). Both offer a wide variety of choices.
Q. If I want to rent table linens, when should I do that?
A. If you want to rent from Rustic Rental, you can place your order immediately after our planning meeting, which will be scheduled about 3-4 weeks before your event. At that meeting, Ginny will help you determine your linen needs.
If you want to rent from PrimeTime Party & Event Rental, you’ll need to place that order about 2 months before your event. In that case, reach out to Ginny ahead of the 2-month window, and she will help you determine your linen needs.
Q. I've decided to purchase my table linens. What size(s) do I need?
A. We have a chart on our Planning Your Layout page that shows the sizes required for both lap length and floor length tablecloths. Ginny is happy to guide you on quantities before you make your purchase; just reach out!
